The Beach
A new album from Worcestershire Songwriter Colin Pitts.
Colin’s sixth solo album, “The Beach” sees a slight departure from Colin’s familiar instrumental and vocal style. This time he has worked with the talents of Karen Tweed, Johnny Coppin, Ben Church, Rachel Chai, David Pick and Steve Burden to produce a powerful album. “A Winter Moon” an optimistic song. “The Beach” and “Halfway Round The World” about issues that face us. “Glass”, “Monday Afternoon” and “The Café In The Square” are typically quirky observations on life and love. “Run Katy Run” is a re-recording of a true story of 18th Century wreckers on the Gower Penninsula, given new power from Ben Church’s dramatic Dobro playing. “The Jewel Of The Village Green” is a true tale of love and loss. The ever popular “Australian Wine” and “No More Cruising” are re-recordings of songs from Colin’s original cassette albums. Finally, “Hometown Heroes” and “Arrowhead” are covers of songs by David Mallett and Richard Shindell. The album is further enhanced by a beautiful cover painting by Jonathan Pitts.
